Situated behind a row of 100-year-old Pohutakawa trees, the colourful design of the street face of the building presents a strong and appropriate scale to the surrounding streetscape. To the north the building’s open side embraces the school’s courts, the greenspace and the Hauraki Gulf beyond.
The School’s values and relationship to its place, Rangitoto te maunga, Pōhutukawa te rākau, Hauraki te moana, Kohimarama te kāinga, are referenced within the design, creating a bold new face for the future of the school.
